Dionne Warwick and Sinbad Skip Taxes

I am beginning to think I am the only sucker stupid enough to pay taxes.

Adding to a list that includes several people in the current administration, we now find out that a couple of has-been entertainers are seriously delinquent on paying state taxes in California. Dionne Warwick reportedly owes about $2.2 million while Sinbad is on the hook for about $2.5 million.

I supposed it really is true that rick people don’t pay taxes.  Something I will need to think about this weekend as I finalize my federal return.

Ted Stevens Conviction Dismissed

In a major twist of fate, a federal judge today set aside the conviction of Alaska Republican Senator Ted Stevens and then appointed an independent investigator to look at possible misconduct on the part of prosecutors.

“In nearly 25 years on the bench, I’ve never seen anything approaching the mishandling and misconduct that I’ve seen in this case,” Judge Emmet Sullivan said.  Reportedly the federal prosecutors withheld evidence from Steven’s defense team.
